3/4 KJ has been working hard to develop our understanding of all the elements that make up a Narrative.
We have spent a lot of time deconstruction each element! We are now focusing on developing strong characters and using our writing skills to describe these characters using great detail.
We are in the beginning phases of developing our individual characters and focusing on adding details and making them recognisable at the first glance. From here, we will be starting to develop the plot of our story, focusing on story sequences, different conflicts, and finally resolution.

International Women's Day
Jane Foss Barff (1863-1937)
This educationist was a leader and fighter for a woman’s right to an education in Australia. In 1891, she was notably a founding member of the Sydney University Women’s Society which promoted higher education of women. Previously in her educational career, she graduated from Sydney University with first-class honours (1886) and went on to be the first woman to achieve a Master of Arts in Sydney.

Project Compassion 2023
Each year Project Compassion brings together thousands of Australians in schools, parishes, and the community to stand in solidarity with the world’s most vulnerable communities, to help end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity. This year, the theme of Project Compassion is ‘For all Future Generations’. It is an expression of hope and reminds us that the good that we do today will extend and impact the lives of generations to come. It invites us to make the world a better place by working together now and finding long-term solutions to global issues.

Elizabeth Catholic Parish Sacrament Program
The Sacraments of Reconciliation, Confirmation, and Eucharist form the Sacraments of Christian Initiation. If your child is 9 years of age (or older) and would like to be involved in the program for 2023, please contact Melissa Musolino for more information. We will hold an information session about the Sacrament Program in the coming weeks.
Humans of St Thomas More School

This quote really inspires me as a teacher, and I think of it often in class with the little ones. I try to make their school experience as unique and memorable as possible. Knowing the difference that I make in the children’s lives day in, and day out is what motivates me the most. There is a strong sense of community among the students and staff here at STM, we all look after each other. We celebrate a lot of special days at the school, but I would have to say that the best example of community spirit and enthusiasm is on show during Book Week, and Sports Day! When I started working at St Thomas More School in 2021, I taught year 3/4’s that first year, then moved to a year 1/2 class, and I am with them again this year! It’s a great group of kids, we have a lot of fun. Being a teacher is very rewarding, but when I am off the clock, I love spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, or catching up on my favourite TV shows. I also try and get to the footy when I can… GO PORT!

2023 OSHC runs daily: 6:30am to 8:30am and 3:00pm to 6:00pm
School Access
8:30am to 8:45am
Access via the main front courtyard gate at the school crossing.
8:45am to 2:45pm
Access via green front pool gate in front of the administration building. You will need to lift the pool gate lock at the top of the gate to open and please ensure the gate is closed securely.
2:45pm to 3:15pm
Access via the main front courtyard gate at the school crossing.
Children dropped off before 8:30am and not collected by 3:15pm will be sent to OSHC and caregivers will be invoiced for the service.
